With your arms relaxed at your sides, measure around the fullest part of your chest.
Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, generally around the belly button. To ensure a comfortable fit, keep one finger between the measuring tape and your body.
Why is insulator testing so important?
In a high-voltage electrical substation, a large number of switchgear components include insulators such as breaking devices, measuring equipments and electrical connections: power transformers, bushings, current transformers, circuit breakers, isolating switches, voltage transformers, etc. The quality of an insulator is a determining factor in the robustness of electrical installation.
The PID-UNIV-Substation insulator tester allow the evaluation and diagnosis all type of insulator. It is revolutionary, lightweight, easy-to-use tool that record faults and hazardous conditions on hanging insulators, substation circuit breakers, bushings and lightning arresters. It represents a major advance in insulator maintenance: it measures the electric field along the insulators, records the electric field and all insulator conduction faults. It operates at all voltage levels and for all types of insulator: glass, porcelain and composite. It is ideal for lower-voltage applications (<115kV), such as conical insulators, bushings, barrel insulators, lightning arresters, etc.
POSITRON® testers are reliable and certified by various electicity companies deployed throughout the world, including EDF and RTE. They are the only devices capable of detecting faults on composite insulators.
- Instrument detects early detection;
- Records faults, up to 15.000 readings;
- Operates on undervoltage insulators from 69kV to 1000kV;
- Available in 50Hz or 60Hz versions;
- Microelectronic technology: test results are acquirred and stored by an integrated microprocessor;
This technology allows readings to be downloaded to any laptop for graphical display, analysis and long-term comparison.
- Compatible with standard field equipment: all units include a universal mounting bracket compatible with industry-standard high-voltage booms.
- Lightweight and durable: POSITRON insulator testers are lightweight (less than 1.6kg), durable and designed to withstand the specific conditions.
The testers are supplied in a robust carrying case for maximum portability and durability.
The steps for implementing:
1. The operator positions himself and presses the push-button on the probe and recorder;
2. The teser is placed on the chain a few insulating discs before the end of the insulator chain;
3. The tester is returned to the start of the chain and held still for at least 10 seconds until a long "beep" is heard;
4. The tester is slid to the end of the chain line, then returns to the starting point.
The buzzer sound each time a playback is made on each insulator disc.
5. The tester is removed from the chain, ensuring that a continuous sound is audible to indicate that the analysis has been successful.
By pressing the push button, the operator sends the data, which is immediately visibile on the PC screen and stored in the database.
